The FDNY Hockey Team would like to announce for the new 2014-15 season that Tommy Reno will be taking over as the General Manager /Coach and Derek Kern will be the new Team Manager.  Pete Gillespie will continue on as Assistant Coach and Frank Heal will continue on as the Team Secretary. At this time the organization would like to thank long time General Manager Billy Kammerer and Team Manager John Fortunato for all their years with the team. Billy started playing with the team in the 1973-74 season and became the General Manager in the 1979-80 season.  John played for the team from 1981-1994 and after that he became part of the management team. Also, Patrick Cleary will be leaving as well. He and John ran the King of the Ice Tournament for many years.  The King of the Ice Tournament will be taken...

The  FDNY and NYPD squared off on Sunday, April 14th for the 40th Annual Hockey Game at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum.  The NYPD took a 1-0 lead one minute into the first period with a goal by Collis (Sessa, Venticinque).  The FDNY tied it up at 7:50 in with a goal from Jim Becker (Mullan).  Later on in the period NYPD’s Ryan (Sessa) scored at 13:44 to make the game 2-1. Wes Cookingham scored 3:43 into the 2nd period from the point off a pass from Eddie Bohan.  Four minutes later Kurt Bruckbauer scored from the point from a pass from Jim Becker.  That would do it for the scoring for the second period.  NYPD had three power play opportunities and FDNY had one but no one was able to score on them. NYPD started off the 3rd period on a power play but FDNY was able to kill it off.  No more scoring for the entire 3rd period.  NYPD had...
